Role of methylphenidate in cancer-related fatigue: A Systemic Review

Introduction: Cancer-related fatigue (CRF) is a substantial medical issue that affects patients at all phases of their therapy and escalates with advanced cancer. To gather indications for the use methylphenidate objective study treatment CRF, as well to analyse efficiency safety CRF so we can tailor response patient only. Methods: conduct review RCTs Systematic Reviews (PRISMA) statement was ideally chosen Reporting Items. From inception through first week October 2021, A systematic search electronic databases PubMed, Embase, PSYCHInfo, Cochrane Library done without any language restrictions. This helped find about in CRF. Search terms used were: methylphenidate, dexmethylphenidate, Ritalin, cancer, tumor, carcinoma, neoplasm, fatigue, asthenia, tiredness, RCT. We also looked over few journals' references more theoretically related papers. Results: total 267 citations were screened; among them, after preliminary 231 excluded. 36 full-text articles assessed eligibility; 10 met inclusion criteria where selected good quality. Among studies, 5 identified mixed 2 prostate 1 GI cancer Gynaecologic The characteristics studies changed broadly term population studied. Conclusion: summarize up this study, cancer-related weakness could be critical clinical patients. Our findings suggest may useful but evidence inconclusive has confirmed bigger study. All investigations, however, had tiny sample sizes. counsel must respected provisional temporary within absence considerable information from single, expansive, conducted randomized controlled trial. support propose new research topics interventions, into biological factors affecting weariness required.
